 Transformative works.  Essentially, YES.

If you wish to remix, record, artify, perform, or translate any of my works, go right ahead!  There's no need to ask for permission before you begin.  I do ask that you link to the original story when posting, and please let me know (if it's at all possible) so i can check out the awesomeness you have wrought.  Please don't use any transformative works for commercial purposes.

If for any reason you find it necessary to modify the story text while creating a podfic, that's perfectly acceptable.  I can imagine that dialogue tags would get to be a bit cumbersome for podficcers.

The only caveat to blanket permission: if a work is co-written and the collaborator has no statement, I request that you contact me so I may obtain permission from them.

Dear Yuletide Author

Well, kids, it's once again that greatest time of year: Yuletide! Dearest loveliest Author, thanks for loving one of my fandom choices enough to voluntarily submit to reading the following garbage heap of FEELS. I'm a firm believer in THIS IS ALL OPTIONAL, DO WHATEVER YOU WANT JUST THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING, but if you want some direction I figured I should probably write the thing.

For your reference, these are me:

Book Meme

Saw [personal profile] jedusaur's post and wanted to write this up.

List ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.

I’m going to really blatantly cheat and include series as individual books. Just warning you.

1. The Oxford Time Travel Series by Connie Willis (Doomsday Book, To Say Nothing of the Dog, Blackout, and All Clear) To Say Nothing of the Dog has been my favorite book for going on five years now. The entire series is brilliantly plotted and written, with incredible worldbuilding in a near-future Oxford populated with believably flawed and sharp characters.
2. The Forever War by Joe Haldeman One of the few science fiction ‘classics’ that’s held up for me. Haldeman wrote the novel as his MFA thesis for the Iowa Writers’ Workshop before serializing in Analog Magazine. After receiving his BS in Astronomy and Physics Joe was drafted into the Army and served as a combat engineer in Vietnam. The Forever War draws heavily from his experiences as a vocal opponent of conscription, but never feels heavy handed or preachy. If you think military scifi’s not your bag, I’d give it a read.
3. The Hainish Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin I love the entire ‘series’ (I use the term loosely, since the novels/shorts don’t really share characters and are simply set in the same universe). My tattoo is a portion of a quote from The Dispossessed ‘I come with empty hands and the desire to unbuild walls.’ Le Guin’s a fine writer and a brilliant worldbuilder whose philosophies bleed brightly through everything she creates.
4. Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli It doesn’t hold up quite as well as some of the others on the list, but I read Maniac Magee a dozen or more times in primary school. Still one of the greatest opening chapters I’ve ever read.
5. Tortall series by Tamora Pierce They’re so wonderfully interwoven it’s nigh impossible to pick a favorite, but Pierce introduced me to asskicking ladies in fantasy and I’ll be forever greatful.
6. The Patternist Series by Octavia Butler A dark and thought-provoking look into the psychology of immortality. Also a biting social commentary on issues ranging from post-colonialism and slavery to Western modernity.
7. The Secret of Platform 13 by Eva Ibbotson I adore all of Ibbotson’s work, which is largely aimed at middle-grade readers, but Platform 13 is a gem. A magical island hidden from the world in mist, a portal between King’s Cross station and the island that opens only nine days every nine years, a kidnapping, ghosts, hags, and all manner of wonderful delights in this adventurous romp.
8. The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan I’m ambivalent about most of Tan’s work, but I couldn’t for the life of me set this book down. Poignant and very interestingly structured.
9. Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke The sequels are nothing to write home about, but Rendezvous with Rama is my favorite of Clarke’s works. The premise and design of Rama (the ship, itself) are chillingly alien in the best, classic scifi way. It’ll be a dream of a movie if it ever moves out of development hell. Also sporting one of the greatest last paragraphs in fiction:

And on far-off Earth, Dr. Carlisle Perera had as yet told no one how he had wakened from a restless sleep with the message from his subconscious still echoing in his brain: The Ramans do everything in threes.

10. The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede Eminently charming, funny, and quotable. Kickass heroines and all sorts of trope subversions. As a kid I wanted to grow up to be Morwen. Or Cimorene. Or Kazul. Basically all of the characters were my heroes.

This Is Not a Fandom Post

In just over a week I'll be boarding a plane. It'll be right around 117F on the tarmac (why, yes, Phoenix actually is a hellscape for several months of the year). Expected weather in the Idaho Panhandle is light rain with highs in the mid- to low-70s.

It may make for a nice break from the heat.

It's been just over three years since I saw my mother's parents. I spoke with them briefly at my older sister's wedding. I got a call from my mother a few weeks ago. She said that if I wanted to visit them one last time before my grandfather doesn't recognize any of us I should make it soon.

To be perfectly honest I'm feeling a bit detached about the whole thing. I'm estranged from the majority of my family, godless-academic-slut-queer-heathen that I am, but my grandfather was always kind to me. He had a stroke twenty years ago that destroyed a golf ball-sized portion of his brain. Before that he'd been--I'm told, I don't know that I met him before--quick tempered and free with the paddle. The man I remember had relearned how to speak, but the trial of translating the thought he was having to understandable speech was generally deemed not worth the effort. He spends all of his free time reading the Bible. That's not facetiousness. He quite literally spends all of his spare time studying 'the good book,' one of the few phrases that's always come handy to his lips.

I don't have anything to say to him.

My younger sister, who's incredibly devout, is having a difficult time with our grandfather's failing health. If I'm honest, the main reason I'm making the trip is because she'll be able to get away from field school for a few days to drive up while I'm visiting. I'm scared of leaving her alone in the wilderness with her fear and her painfully empathetic soul.

I'm not good at grieving. I don't deal well with death. I'm sure it makes me a terrible person for not being more upset by the pending loss, but deep depressive episodes are what I have to look forward to when I actually care. I've lost years of my life to grieving for people I love. I simply don't have the energy for a man who shares my genes and has never shared my life. It's selfish, but it's self care.

I refuse to feel bad.

Teen Wolf/Stargate Crossover: Nothing Like the Holodeck

Title: Nothing Like the Holodeck
Sequel to: Curly Fries and Other Little Obscenities, Beneath an Unfamiliar Sky, and This Is Not a War Story
Author: [personal profile] taliahale
Fandoms: Teen Wolf (TV), Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: SG-1
Word Count: 9553
Ratings/Warnings: Teen, End Notes for Warnings
Characters: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, Madison Miller, Meredith Miller-Emmagen (OFC), Torren Emmagan, Stiles Stilinski, Calliope Taylor (OFC), Carolyn Lam, Kavya Patankar (OFC)
Pairings: Rodney McKay/John Sheppard, Ronon Dex/Amelia Banks/Radek Zelenka, Laura Cadman/Aiden Ford, Madison Miller/Torren Emmagen, Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Caroly Lam/Kavya Patankar (OFC)
Summary: “Don’t be ridiculous,” Stiles laughs, adjusting the bill of his faded Mets cap to better block the sun streaming through the gaps in the cloud cover. He turns his camera lens on Derek, who looks away from the treeline to scowl, “They’ve been sending teams here for ages and nobody’s ever found something more exciting than a new variant of, I dunno, space ivy or something, so would you just--”

That’s when the arrows start flying.

Author’s Note: Written for WIP Big Bang, with art by the lovely and talented [personal profile] musicalluna, who was encouraging and patient with my rewrites. Thanks, as ever, to S for the beta duty (and making me write the ending three times, you are a tyrant and you were right: I’m the worst, I’m sorry). Original inspiration from the SG-1 Episode ‘Window of Opportunity,’ though if you’re familiar with the episode this went a different direction. The line about the universe and pie was lovingly stolen from the SG-1 Episode ‘Urgo.’ If you’re unfamiliar with SG-1, I highly recommend either episode as an introduction to the series. I chose not to use archive warnings, but mind the tags and check out the end notes for full warnings. It's not tagged or in the warnings, but this entire series is domestic as fuck. Just so you know.

Check it out over on AO3

Hockey RPF Magical Realism AU: Your Robot Heart Is Bleeding

Title: Your Robot Heart Is Bleeding
Fandom: Hockey RPF

Relationships: Sidney Crosby & Jack Johnson, Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 6803
Summary: The procedure was an unmitigated success. A healthy baby boy, perfectly average in height and weight with a heart that beat steady as a metronome.

Author's Notes: Written for the Hockey Reverse Big Bang, inspired by azurejay's amazing mix, Sensible Person (Hot to the Touch, Cold on the Inside). Title taken from and story idea heavily drawn from Dan Mangan’s ‘Robot’ and FOB’s ‘Hot to the Touch, Cold on the Inside.’

Warning Up Front: There is immediate mention of a stillbirth. It's brief, nongraphic, and children are brought back to life with mechanical or magical means, but obviously a potential trigger. As per usual, I chose not to use archive warnings. Please check the end notes for more detailed warnings.

Summary: Today's the day.
Shameless Retirement Fic.
Author’s Note: This is for [personal profile] brumeier, who I repeatedly trick into reading Teen Wolf/SGA fics even though she doesn’t Teen Wolf. You’re the best mod a shoobie could ask for. Have some McShep.

Written for Romancing McShep, a John/Rodney Happy Endings fest. This fic could theoretically carry a very soft M rating. If old dudes kissing and frottage offends you...don’t read this. Beta by the always brilliant S. The Change of Command ceremony is loosely based on USAF traditions and Star Trek: TNG.

Warnings Non-graphic descriptions of injuries and a heart attack. Canonical character deaths are alluded to, but not specifically discussed. It’s not explicitly stated, but it’s made clear that John has PTSD (relates to AU take on scenes from ‘Phantoms’). Aforementioned horny old dudes. Meddling with both canon timelines for convenience. Tooth rotting fluff. Cadman. Cadman’s a warning all on her own.

If you do Teen Wolf and you’re reading this series solely for the Teen Wolf, you can probably skip this one.

Available at AO3 if you prefer.

Hockey RPF: 53rd Street Shinny

Title: The Relative Merits of Citrus
Author: [personal profile] taliahale
Fandoms: Hockey RPF
Word Count: 16147
Ratings/Warnings: Teen
Pairings: Patrick Kane/Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith/Kelly-Rae Keith, Brent Seabrook/Dayna Seabrook, Abby Sharp/Patrick Sharp, Brandon Bollig/Andrew Shaw
Characters: Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Kelly-Rae Keith, Dayna Seabrook, Abby Sharp, Patrick Sharp, Brandon Bollig, Andrew Shaw, Corey Crawford, Andree Gilbert, Jessica Kane, Colton Keith, Carter Seabrook, Stan Mikita
Summary: When career-ending injuries keep Kane and Toews from making it to the NHL, they turn to their family businesses. Jonny's expanding into Patrick's market. (He only wishes that was a euphemism.) Everything sort of goes downhill from there. Featuring: rec league hockey, flirtatious emails, fabulous female roommates, gratuitous references to Twilight and the Mighty Ducks, not-so-secret identities, and an overabundance of junk food.

That ‘You’ve Got Mail’ AU nobody asked for.
Author’s Note: Written as a pinch-hit for svmadelyn's Hockey Holiday Exchange. Hazel, thank you for the stellar prompt.

Prompt: Blackhawks, Kane/Toews, "Nobody likes a liar, Kaner," Jonny says, but Patrick thinks it's bullshit by the way he's trying not to smirk.

For those uncomfortable with the emotional infidelity in the film, it's not at play here. However, the aftermath of the loss of a parental figure is a plot point, as is the subsequent loss of the inheritance and occupation left behind by said figure. The character's death takes place off screen and several years prior to the story. A character makes a joking reference to a male character kicking a female character's ass, though it's referring to business competition not a physical altercation. A character accidentally ingests too much cough medicine. He's intoxicated while alone with someone he doesn't particularly like or trust, but he isn't taken advantage of in any way.

Thanks, as always, to the inimitable S for the super-speedy, incredibly last-minute beta. You're a lady and a tramp. Thank you for talking me out of titling this 'Miracle on 53rd Street.' Any remaining errors, particularly in judgement, are entirely my own.

Formatting note: emails from Jonathan/stanley19 will be in italics, emails from Patrick/hockeybro88 will be bolded.

Eureka: Founder's Day

Title: Founder's Day
Author: [personal profile] taliahale
Fandoms: Eureka
Word Count: 6349
Ratings/Warnings: Teen, Mild Dub-Con of the Alternate Timeline Kissing Variety
Characters: Jack Carter, Nathan Stark, Jo Lupo, Douglas Fargo, Henry Deacon, David Blake (OMC), Vincent,Deputy Andy, S.A.R.A.H.
Pairings: Jack Carter/Nathan Stark, Allison Blake/David Blake, Henry Deacon/Grace Monroe, Jack Carter & Jo Lupo, Jack Carter & Henry Deacon
Summary: Jack isn’t afraid to open his front door.

Sometimes going back to the future isn’t quite how you imagined. First off, no DeLoreans, which is a major letdown. Oh, and there’s that whole rematerialized nemesis-turned-boyfriend to deal with. Founder’s Day is the worst.
Author’s Note: This story diverges from canon at the start of season four. For the sake of convenience, I ignored the fact that Kavan Smith was Andy 2.0. Some dialogue in the opening scene was taken from 4X2, ‘A New World.’ As per usual, I chose not to use archive warnings so check the end notes. Let me know if you'd like me to tag anything.

Written for smallfandomfest. Prompt: ‘coming back from the dead is tiring,’ Jack/Nathan. Thanks to my beta S, who rewatched season 4 with me and commented ‘needs more Stark.’ You are entirely to blame for this mess.

Warnings: If you’ve seen season 4 or 5 of Eureka, you’re familiar with the deception taking place among the characters who traveled back in time. If you're unfamiliar, this fic contains both Jack and Henry lying to their respective romantic partners, though physical involvement is limited to light kissing. Still dubcon-y, though.

Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal, and a Happy New Year

I'll be ringing in the New Year at work this year, guys (oh, hotel night audit you are such a glamorous thing), so I hope you're all out having fun in my stead.

 1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?
Moved somewhere new with an actual plan in mind.  This...probably shouldn't be the first time I've managed that?  I'm 24 years old.  But I'm pretty damn proud of myself, anyway.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make any last year. Won't this year, either.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister's sister-in-law.  I'm not sure if that counts, since we're neither geographically or emotionally close, but it got my sister and her husband talking about kids which is pretty big news.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, but it was a five-year anniversary of the deaths of two people with whom I was incredibly close.  It was rough in ways I didn't anticipate and didn't deal with particularly well.

5. What countries did you visit?

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
Schoolwork.  I've finally got the money saved to finish my BA, which (depending on how many classes I can fit in around my work schedule) should take about a year and a half to two years.  So I want a degree, but I'll take the work that gets me there for now.

7. What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The anniversary of Lucy's death.  Bit self explanatory, there.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
The big move!  And also getting back to fandom, I think.  I hadn't realized how much I'd missed the active participation bit of being a fan, and the beta work and odd bit of writing has been a real joy.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Nothing huge, I don't think, but I didn't do a great job of taking care of my physical health.  I did a lot of work on my emotional well-being, but my commitment to healthy eating and exercise fell a bit by the wayside.  I didn't gain much weight, or anything, but I feel a bit sluggish and haven't been sleeping as well as I'm used to.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Tonsillitis.  It was the 8th time.  They still refuse to take them out.  Ugh.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A treadmill desk.  It's my new baby.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
All of you lot.  My sister who started her masters in archaeology.  My cousin who came out to his family, despite knowing how they'd react.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
Basically everyone I came in contact with at my old job. No. Really.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, food, gas.  I was pretty good about spending in 2013.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Figuring out what exactly I wanted to major in.  At my last school, I'd been working towards a Lit degree, which...it is mostly impossible to get a job in my area without a masters or phd, so--social work!  Yay!

16. What song will always remind you of 2013?
Uh...the Pacific Rim Soundtrack? I don't know, don't look at me.

17: Compared to this time last year, are you:
(a) happier or sadder?
Happier.  Not...not by a lot, but it's significant.
(b) thinner or fatter? Maybe five pounds heavier?  Not noticeably fatter.
(c) richer or poorer? Poorer.  Is anyone richer?

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
...not much?  I was pretty happy with what I managed to accomplish in the last year.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Putting up with being treated poorly.  I'm not sure when I got so terrible at sticking up for myself, but that's not happening anymore.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Quiet day in with my immediate family sans Indy (she had winter-term classes).

21. Did you fall in love in 2013?
No.  Thank fuck.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
...that's still on?  Nothing much.  I rewatched all of SG1 and SGA this year, so it was pretty much all Stargate all the time at Casa Hale in 2013.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
...no.  Like people significantly less?  yes, yes, yes

24. What was the best book you read?
That I was reading for the first time?  Human Division by John Scalzi.  Rereading?  To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis.  (It was a spec fic kind of year.)

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
2013 wasn't a big music year for me.  I listened to a lot of my old standards, enjoyed the latest albums from a few favorite bands, nothing really new.

26. What did you want and get?
My treadmill desk.  Been saving up for ages and it was a great purchase.

27. What did you want and not get?
Not...much?  Not anything that I was realistically expecting.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Just one?  Pacific Rim.  I saw a lot of good movies this year, but that was the fave.

29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Going back to school sooner.  The money situation just didn't work out.

30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
I...didn't have one?  I spent most of my year in sweats at home and a uniform at work.

31. What kept you sane?

32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Uh...it was sort of a Joe Flan resurgence this year.  Like I said, too much Stargate.

33. What political issue stirred you the most?
Baby Boomers shitting all over Millennials; educational debt; reproductive rights; same old bullshit.

34. Who did you miss?
My little sister, Indy.  Looking forward to seeing her this week at Disneyland!

35. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013.
Take shit from no one.

Insta[REC]: more with less by liketheroad, Hockey RPF

more with less by [personal profile] liketheroad. Unrated, 4,000+ words, Patrick/Jonny. Possibly I liked this because it hit so incredibly close to home for me. It happens occasionally. There's some seriously heavy shit being discussed here: religious guilt, family issues, internalized and societal homophobia, being so closeted you have no support system. It's not happy-times fic, and while it ends with the UST firmly in place it's quietly hopeful. You go read; I'll just be over here in my corner, weeping.

Johnny was raised Mennonite, which seems about as bad as being Catholic, except there’s less of an emphasis on guilt and more of a focus on the moral value of hard work and unhappiness. His mom’s a lapsed Catholic, though, converting when she married Johnny’s dad, and she still sometimes cries about how little he’s home, so Johnny’s probably got his bases covered, guilt wise.

They’ve never really talked about their faiths, except for the occasional cryptic, drunken reference, but Patrick figures they both believe in something, even if it’s just enough to keep them apart.

They’ve acknowledged their feelings for one another, but only once. They were in Vancouver, and Canada had just beaten America for Olympic gold. To this day, Patrick doesn’t know why he chose to bring it up then, except that it was an emotional moment, so happy for Johnny and so sad for himself, and when they met in the handshake line, all he could think to say was, “What I feel for you isn’t wrong.”

Johnny blinked at him and said, “I never said it was.”

Patrick nodded, tugged once on Johnny’s chinstrap, and kept moving down the line.

They haven’t spoken about it since.

Insta[REC]: Thou and You by pentapus and twentysomething, Hockey RPF

Thou and You art by pentapus, fic by twentysomething. Explicit, 61,000+ words, Historical Fantasy AU, Sid/Geno, Maria Kirilenko/Alexander Ovechkin, Paul Martin/James Neal. I've read the Patricia C Wrede novels the magical society is based on, and while worth a read, this delightful Sid/Geno focused fic gives me what those were missing: porn. Not that there isn't a lot of lovely world-building and adorably Regency-esque wooing, but the sex scenes are pretty phenomenal.

"You are over-modest," Evgeni says, bringing Sugarpie into step with Teumessian. "You ride beautifully."

Mr. Crosby ducks his head with a smile. "Where I come from in Canada, there isn't much to do other than ride and skate. From the moment the ice became too thin, I was on a horse."

"My childhood was much the same," Evgeni says, grinning to think of it. "If only the weather would allow us to go skating, as well."

"The ice forms much later in Pittsburgh than in Cole Harbour," Mr. Crosby says with a sigh, and then, with the air of one admitting to a terrible secret, adds, "I have been known to speed the process along with a spell on Lord Lemieux's fish pond."

Evgeni is startled into laughing. "I hope it was not stocked at the time," he teases.

Mr. Crosby's guilty look is all the confirmation Evgeni needs to burst into another round of delighted laughter. "Oh, Mr. Crosby," Evgeni manages through his laughter, sighing it out.

"Mar- Lord Lemieux did not mind," Mr. Crosby mutters.

At the Edges by onrooftops. Mature, Stiles/Danny, 93,000+ words, AU Canon Divergence Post Season 2. I don't really know how to summarize this. It's truly novel-length, narratively complex, and I've had it constantly at the back of my mind for months. I rarely read WIPs (and never rec them, which is why I'm only posting this now) so it speaks volumes that I've been going back to At the Edges since June. As much as I love Sterek, Stiles and Danny make sense as a couple in the canon's timeline in a way that Stiles and Derek really can't. Danny is criminally underused on the show, and onrooftops has used the barebones we're given and written a fully realized protagonist. Take the time to read this one, guys. It's phenomenal.

“Fucking werewolves, Danny!”

“I know.” He drops his chin to look at her again. “I do. I would have told you if you’d seen even half of what you saw tonight. If you saw Jackson with sideburns, or Scott with his eyes all lit up—I’d have told you.”

“Bullshit. You’re telling me now, and I thank you for that, I do, but—that was Erica tonight, right? The one who pulled Aiden off of me? That was Erica and she threatened me and you sided with her. You stayed, Danny. You sent me away, but you stayed.”

“Of course I stayed. You didn’t know what was going on. You needed to get out of there.” He looks at the dried blood spattered on his dark t-shirt, his jeans. “I needed to stay.” He can’t explain that compulsion, the fact that he didn’t even consider a different possibility, didn’t consider leaving to make absolutely sure she made it home all right. He feels a raw surge of guilt at that, but even so he can’t imagine having handled the night any differently.

“But once I was gone, what’d you do?” She fixes her gaze on a smear of brownish blood across his forearm. “You look like you killed somebody. You look like a psychopath. You’re a mess. How do you know Erica and the rest are the good guys, how do you know you want to side with them?” She takes in a shaky breath. “How can you want to risk everything for them?”

“What we’re doing—it’s right, Julia. I’m on the right side.”

“Say there’s not a right side,” she argues, “or say both groups of werewolves are wrong and the right side is the people who’re out of it.”

Danny pushes to his feet. “Staying out of it isn’t an option for me. People are getting hurt, and we need to stop the wolves who’re hurting them. That’s what there is. That’s all this is.”

Teen Wolf/Stargate Crossover: Curly Fries and Other Little Obscenities

Title: Curly Fries and Other Little Obscenities
Author: [personal profile] taliahale
Prompt: Stiles Stilinski walked into a bar and meets…Aiden Ford.
Fandoms: Teen Wolf (TV), Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: SG-1
Word Count: 2068
Ratings/Warnings: Gen, No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Aiden Ford, John Sheppard, Rodney McKay
Pairings: Aiden Ford/Laura Cadman, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay
Summary: Stiles is wandering the corridors of Stargate Command in search of caffeine and calories when he meets Major Ford.
Author’s Note: Thanks to my mifus for all the encouragement. Written for A Ficathon Walks Into a Bar. Unfortunately, there is no actual bar in this story.

Canon compliant with Teen Wolf through 3a, though the accelerated education is farfetched enough that you can disregard that if you prefer. Aiden’s storyline diverges from SG:A canon pre-series. His grandmother fell ill and he never joined the original expedition. He’s a team leader at the SGC and his life has been all puppies and rainbows and Cadman instead of Wraith enzyme-induced psychosis and life on the lam. McShep because I seriously can't help myself.

Available on AO3, LJ or on DW )

So. Real people fic. It's new for me. Hockey? Not so new. I'm easing into a whole new world of 'oh, Lee, what were you thinking' fics. And so we begin with my favorite Penguins, Sid and Geno. I love how fandom's collectively decided there shall be pining. The pining is great.
